I don’t want to make this blog really long ’cause I’m kinda tired.
Yesterday I went up to London with dear ol’ Charlee, and we went to London Zoo (aswell as Oxford Street with the giant Topshop…oh the vintage clothes in the basement…). To be honest the zoo wasn’t all that great, I mean sure it was good for a zoo, housed animals and all that but I still think Colchester Zoo was even better. However, we did see Lil Chris (remember him?) dressed up as a dung beetle singing for charity. Of course, I have pictures.
Then it took us about half an hour to find the exit. Everyone we asked kept sending us in different directions. And their pancakes were not worth £3 I can tell ya, they weren’t even warm. But apart from that I did get some nice pictures of Gorillas, which I shall eventually upload. Speaking of which I’ve uploaded a few of my holiday pictures, although I still have loads more to add.
Back to yesterday. Once we did find our way to Oxford Street we spent about, hmm, maybe an hour in Topshop. I ended up spending far too much money on a dress, but it’s so pretty. I love it. Oh and I’ve been trying to get a leather jacket (but haven’t found any in my price range so I was just going to wait until my birthday) but Charlee gave me hers because she said it made her look like a butch lesbian. I love it though, it’s navy blue and so very gorgeous. But it was so nice of her to give it to me for free, so I completely owe her now.
My brother got his GCSE results, and all is well. He got what he needed to get into his college of choice, so I guess congrats are in order to him.
I’m sorry this is a bit short, but it’s late and I’m tired. I also apologize for any spelling/grammar errors, but I’ll have to check tomorrow, too…sleepy…right…now.

I got home at half nine this morning (it is now 13:27) and I’m completely knackered. But I don’t want to go to bed, I’d feel like I was wasting the day away ya know? Plus, since Greece is 2 hours later than England, I have an extra 2 hours, but to be honest it doesn’t feel any different.
I did so much this holiday, so I expect this blog will be rather long I’ll try and mention everything but undoubtly i’ll forget something.
First, let me explain the title. At the moment I’m struggling wit Ulysses, which is a hard cover and surprisingly heavy, therefore I would definatly NOT be taking it with me. So I decided to get Metamorphosis and other short stories (it’s a collection) by Franz Kafka. It’s so depressing. I mean Meamorphosis was sad enough (and that’s meant to be one of his lighter stories) but then In the Penal Settlement was just, well twisted. Absolutely brilliant, but man, it makes your stomach turn. All the stories were still very witty though. Dark humour and what not.
Rhodes itself was rather lovely. Luckily we were on the less Lairy part of the island. I have loads of pictures which I shall add eventually (I still need to get my bearings - not yet used to being at home). One of the best parts was that I got to go scuba-diving! It was so incredible, but I have to admit I was kinda nervous. I’m glad I did it, and I’d love to do it again but it’s worrying when you first go down. It was completely safe though, they had professionals above you at all times, and they’d keep asking you if you were ok.
Obviously, there was a lot of outings to various beaches, and on a jeep safari trip we went to this beach, which was so amazing. It didn’t look real. We also tried this home-made honey which was so ridiculously nice, it was unbelievable. We bought 2 jars
I’m kinda a sucker for honey. Aswell as honey, we also tried fire water. That was such a jolt. It felt like I had just swallowed a lit matchstick. There had been a fire 1 week before, and we got taken to where the damage was. It was pretty eery going past all the black and grey trees, especially since there were areas where it seemed like the fire just stopped, because the ground was so vibrant.
And everythnig grows so quickly there, there was already green shoots growing from where everything had been burnt. It was all very Miyazakiesque.
As it turned out, David Gilmore was meant to have a villa “just down the road” from where we were staying, and apparently, a few years previous, during a Think Floyd concert he got up on stage and joined in. Haha, I thought that was pretty cool.
Oh, you know what, I haven’t mentioned the weather. Well…it was baking hot, and after about the first week there was a very slight breeze. And it basically stayed that way until we came home. I actually really missed overcast skies, and good ol’ rain.
Let’s see, what else, well we climed 365 steps up to a monastery, which was absolutely beautiful. Plus they had a cute donkey
Again, lots of pictures to add. We also went to the valley of the butterflies which was so picturesque and beautiful, but a tad misleading considering the mass amounts of “butterflies” are technically a type moth. But I guess Valley of the Moths isn’t going to attract as much publicity.
There’s plenty more I could say, like the many trips to Lindos or going up to see the Acropolis, but what do we think, is this post long enough yet? I think so too, so I’ll just leave it there. All comments will be returned eventually, just bear with me.
